Hey there!

I’m Kelley, the Suitcase Mama!

I travel for work, and with our vacation days, our family of four travel for fun. I feel I’m a bit unique as my eye for travel covers the breadth of solo, professional travel, as well as the adventure, exhaustion and joy that comes with viewing the world through our kiddo’s eyes. Read more here about why I think travel is so important.

As a child, my parents took our family of four on one to two vacations a year. You could say this gave me the travel bug and I knew when I graduated college, I wanted a job that included travel. Now, with an Engineering undergraduate degree and an MBA, I am very lucky that what I do for a living gives me the opportunity to continue traveling. For over 15 years, I’ve gained a breadth of knowledge from a business travel perspective and now I leverage my knowledge in our personal adventures.

We’re a family of four living in Wisconsin. My husband, my two boys and myself. My husband and I traveled a lot together before we had kids, and my children went on their first vacations at 3 months and 6 weeks, respectively. It’s a lot of work to take a family on vacation, but for my husband and I, it’s completely worth it. We believe so greatly in family travel, that I want to do everything I can to encourage, support and prepare families to be able to do the same.

My goal for this space is to provide tips, tricks, mistakes to avoid, hacks and itineraries for both work and family travel. Please never hesitate to reach out to me!
